The Final: Pt.1
Date added: 31/05/2008

At last, the grand final of Britain's Got Talent 2008 is here. The atmosphere backstage is brilliant with no sign if showbiz attitudes and diva behaviour, but loads and loads of talent onstage.

Opening the show is no easy task but those Cheeky Monkeys, Charlie and Krista, provide a magnificent beginning to the Final of Britain’s Got Talent 2008. This pair might be teeny in size but their talent is huge and their energy infectious as they take us back in time with the Grease classic We Go Together. As the fun sized Olivia Newton John and John Travolta cartwheel and backflip their way across the stage amid a sea of balloons, it seems that as well as the team of dancers they’ve brought with them, they have three more famous faces leading the cheers!

"The Cheeky monkeys put letters under out doors and Charlie's said, "I'm digging you right now. Guys, I'm digging you right now.

Amanda loves them! "You're cute but you're really talented, you can back it up you can back it up.

"I'd steal you two and adopt you, you're so cute, I don't know what it is, I've never felt this way before about children". Said Simon. Wow!

Scotland’s finest, Andrew Muir, is up next and he’s taking no chances with his choice of song. Simon wasn’t too keen on his Paulo Nutini theme in the semi’s so he’s swapped for one of the greatest songwriters of all time, John Lennon, and his hit Imagine. Andrew’s voice has a great emotion to it – and he show how much really, really wants to win… well, he’s dumped the dayglo yellow shoes and watch, for starters!

Said Piers, "The song choice was a brave one but you did a good job. Well done"

Amanda tried to temper her comments. "I did not like your choice of song tonight I think you murdered it, but I do think you have a lovely quality to your voice, I like the quality of your voice you're very David Gray. I still think you're great".

But Simon did not mince his words. "Andrew you just blew it. Simple as that. You lost everything we liked about you I think you've just made probably the worst decision you've ever made in your life by choosing it". Harsh!

Kate and Gin are our third performers this evening. No matter how much prep goes into the show, there’s no telling what might happen with an Animal act. But Kate and Gin trust each other completely, and despite the strange sounds and sights in the studio Gin is unruffled, letting Kate lead her through their favourite James Bond themed routine. We know Simon loves dogs… here’s what he had to say…

"I've never even seen Michael Jackson to a 360 backwards moonwalk dance. It is the animal world laying down a market to the humans, beat that".

The best thing tonight was you smiling Kate, you looked like you were enjoying it as much as Gin.

I would like to complement you tonight Kate to Make Gin do what she does you've got to have a special bond. You are unique, it would be the first time there's been a dog at the Royal Variety...

... bide your time Amanda (She got cross at this point, not guessing why...)

"This is one unique act and you did brilliantly tonight!"

The Milton Keynes massive are gout in force in Nemesis and the winner’s of Friday night’s semi final have had a roller coaster couple of days! Clad all in white and with the baseball caps still on their heads they manage to look both street and glam at the same time…how do they do that? The same question was on the lips of everyone watching as they mixed gymnastics with robotics in their musical medley.

Piers said, "I love you guys but I thought that was the weakest of the three routines at we're seen perhaps you didn't have enough time to rehearse it, I 'm not sure that was a winning performance".

Amanda agreed, "You've got so much drive and ambition but I don't think that routine was a strong as your semi final routine".

But Simon defended them, "Part of the reason you've come as far as you come you've got an incredible attitude, taking everything into account, you did terrific".
