With literally moments to go until the curtain is raised and the live final of Britain's Got Talent 2008 begins, the atmosphere backstage is tense. Brows are furrowed, heartbeats have quickened, and last minute trips to the toilet are all the rage.
Naturally we have to remain tight-lipped over what's gone down today, but here are a couple of goss that we picked up whilst mooching round the studio today...
We hear that Charlie, one half of the Cheeky Monkeys, has slipped a note under Simon Cowell's door thanking him profusely for the opportunity of performing on Britain's biggest stage tonight! That's it Charlie, keep him sweet, keep him sweet!
Although the competition is fierce, friendships are blossoming between the finalists, with George Sampson and Andrew Johnston becoming firm pals over the past week. The northern lads buddied up whilst watching the other acts together, and word is it looks like they'll be firm mates for a long time to come!
And dramatic news just in... Kate and Gin have narrowly avoided being run-over just moments before the show was due to start. Taking Gin on a quick pre-show walk, Kate was nearly knocked down by a driver of a green car... luckily both girl and dog are fine.
And thank goodness, because we are expecting great from that dynamic duo!
