The Final: Part 2
Date added: 31/05/2008

We're seen four finalists perform and there are six more to go... is the winner among them? Only you and the great British voting public can possibly know!

We’re not ones to make obvious TV-themed jokes but the next act on stage are definitely hoping to, ahem, strike it lucky! Danny and Liam descended onto the stage in a Mission Impossible style drop. The took off their judo shirts, struck a pose and immersed themselves in a backing track including whipping noises and gunfire, then ending in blasts of fire. As the camera cut to Amanda, she was in rapture! I Like the Way You Move, indeed!

Piers began, "If this was a competition only by women you would have won this thing already. You come better each time it's been better than before your name has not been mentioned in the list of favourite and I don't know why!

Amanda gushed, "I've always said you are, ravishing and ripped rampantly gorgeous, I know you take this very serious, you are extraordinarily entertaining".

You are better tonight than I've seen in previous rounds. It was the best act I've seen tonight!" beamed Simon. He even gave them a standing ovation!

Changing the mood completely, Andrew Johnston returned to the track which left the judges open mouthed at auditions. As the first clear notes of Pie Jesu rang out, the Carlisle schoolboy again managed to silence the crowd. He may be looking more and more like a man every day with his smart suit and dignified pose.

Piers said, "Andrew., look at you! What a difference from that shy nervous boy we met in the audition room. That was a brilliantly confident performance. I've been waiting for you to do that. You came out looking like a star and you sang like a star.

Amanda said, "I completely agree with Piers, you sing with your shoulders up really tense, but you've transformed. Everything about you. You're a winner, now. Not just in this competition but for the rest of your life."

And then onto Andrew's mate, George. George Sampson’s Singing In The Rain routine was so popular with the judges and public alike that the 14 year-old school boy has decided to reprise it for the final. The Warrington lad has really caught the imagination of the nation, as much for his determination to succeed as his twinkle-toed dancing. And the verdict tonight? The judges were bursting to tell him!

I love your confidence George. I love the fact that every time we've ever seen you it's the best performance you've ever done. The thing that I love and everyone loves is that you are a fighter. You've got a great chance".

Amanda said, "I am so pleased you chose to do that routine again. I didn't know how you could top that routine but you kind of have, this is a life changing moment this show, a big prize I think you are in with a big shot.

And Simon agreed, "Every time I think we've spotted a winner it changes again. You've got to have a chance of winning the competition after that. Getting it spot on is almost impossible but you did it - good for you!"

We're well into the final now and you can vote for your favourite once all the acts have performed by following the voting instructions as given by Ant and Dec on the show.
