Don't worry - be happy!

The man who was runner-up in the public vote, only to lose out to Hollie Steel at the hands of the judges, nearly didn’t even make it to his semi-final because of a singing-related injury that’d left him unable to practice for three weeks.

We chatted to Greg earlier in the day about the problem that had been the cause of many sleepless nights.

“I’ve had a tension stress in my neck which means I haven’t been able to do any singing for weeks now… today is the first time I’ve actually sung my song out loud all the way through! I’ve been going over it in my head every day, but it’s not the same, this time last week I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to perform on the show – it’s been a nightmare really!”

However Greg was sure the Manuka Honey he was gobbling up was working wonders: “This stuff’s great!” he said in between mouthfuls.

Greg’s sore throat wasn’t the only obstacle he had to cope with last night; he was scared stiff he’d be blown off the stage due to the parachute style cape he was wearing!

Speaking after his dress rehearsal he told us: “I’m really worried I’m going to fall off the stage tonight! I’m wearing an enormous cape that’s got wires to hoist it about 20 feet in the air, and then there is a big wind machine being fired at me to make the damn thing bellow! It’s like a hot air balloon or something – if it goes wrong then it’s going to be so embarrassing!”

Fortunately for Greg he stayed rooted on his platform throughout his song, delivering a fine performance that had viewers voting in their thousands to send him through to the final. Unfortunately for Greg, he was up against Hollie Steel in the judge-off… and after what she had been through earlier in the night, he never stood a chance.

Well...I have to say Britain's Got Talent is bowing down to the kids...especially those who get another chance which most contestants wouldn't get! Anyway I just want to say that Greg Pritchard is one of the most beautiful people I have ever seen and his voice is stunning....I wish he could have got into the final. Hope he gets a record deal and a brilliantly staged concert because I'd definately buy/go to anything of his...:P Chimene, Forfar, Scotland

I have just had a look at various threads about Susan Boyle and there are a whole load of people equally as upset about her losing out to Diversity as people are about Greg 'losing' to Hollie. Greg didn't lose really he was robbed! I have nothing against Susan and wish her a speedy recovery but there is a certain justice in all this.

I do hope that the judges read ALL these comments and hopefully realise they have made a SMALL error in 'judgement'. I posted an item on the Wales blog on Greg and told him that I have a performance on video cassette a few years ago of Allan Stewart singing exactly the same Barcelona in exactly the same way, on the Royal Command Performance - so you see Greg, there was difinitely a place for you on the Royal Command, and I wish you the best, ChrissyBev

Loved you Greg. Don't give up. You have got the most fantastic voice, good looks and a really likable personality. You have the whole package, anyone would be a fool not to sign you. You have many fans who would love to buy your CD and pay good money to see you on tour. Don't let this be the end. Really, really want to see more of you. Good luck.

I felt very sad that Greg did not have his place in the final. I think maybe his choice of song was not the best as it didnt show how wonderful his voice is. However, the fact that the 10 year old was given a second attempt and her place because she was 'brave' was totally unfair. I hope that Greg's talent will be recognised and he will be given a chance to perform in the tour.
