Dance act Faces of Disco had Simon, Piers, Kelly and Amanda all-of-a-giggle when they performed of Saturday’s Britain’s Got Talent.
Performers Liam and Richard used comedy masks ranging from Posh and Becks to Louis Walsh and – ahem – Simon Cowell to bring the house down.
Simon did buzz before the boys got into the swing of their routine, but later told the pair, “I think I buzzed too early. I thought it was going to be an impersonation of the Village People… but I liked it. I was impressed.”
“And Piers questioned the guys’ Russian-style footwork, snorting, “How did you know how Simon Cowell dances?”
Liam and Richard admitted that they were apprehensive about how Simon would see his on-stage alter ego.
Said Liam, “We were a little bit worried. He buzzed earlier in the act when I whipped my pants off – I thought ‘He’s gonna be buzzing twice or three times when he sees his own face”. He was a good sport about it though”.
The comedy pair almost had to ‘turn the other cheek’ earlier in the act – when a chorus of wolf whistles convinced the boys that they were showing more than they should have on stage.
Liam laughed, “We were bending over with our backs to the audience, arranging the masks, before the act. People started whistling and I was getting paranoid. I was convinced one of us must’ve had a hole in our trousers, or perhaps Richard’s were coming undone”.
He explained, “We just had to carry on. I couldn’t see what the masks were, because I had sweat in my eyes, and you can’t see anything anyway when you put them on – you have to rely on peripheral vision".
“All I can see is him panting next to me”,
Said Richard, “So you never know, perhaps did split my trousers! I’ll have to check later”!
