Missing out on silverware...
Britain’s Got Talent attracts all sorts. And viewers of Britain’s Got More Talent saw perhaps the most eye-catching act of all, S & R.
Dressed in silver-themed spacesuits, schoolboys Sam Stanhope and Ryan Richardson, both 15, treated the judges an out-of-this-world performance.
Simon asked, “What the ****** hell was that?” after he buzzed ‘em off. But Sam and Ryan were proud of their high-octane version of the hit Dancing Lasha Tumbai by 2007 Eurovision runners-up, Ukranian act Verka Serduchka. They were also quite proud of their outfits.
Said Sam, “We have made an effort to look the part. Me and my mum sat one weekend putting it all together, and sticking on all the glitter”.
“Stephen Mulhern even tried to copy us – he made quite a good hat”.
“Unfortunately we couldn’t wear the whole outfit to travel here – we had to get changed in the toilets. It’s not very glamorous!”
And when they received the three buzz ‘No’ verdict it was clear all of that effort had been in vain. They’d even planned another routine for a future appearance.
Sam sighed, “Well, it won’t happen now, but I was going to have a pink top with an S on it, and Ryan was going to have a black top with an R. And we were going to have umbrellas, for a routine to the tune of It’s Raining Men”.
Now, with their showbiz ambitions shattered, Sam and Ryan will have to find new dreams to chase. Or not.
“It’s just a bit of fun,” shrugged Ryan. “We’re not really that bothered".
“We're off to have chips and doner meat in Tamworth,” said Sam. “We go to the same place after all our performances. The lady in there recognizes us…”
Guys, she probably doesn’t have that many customers wearing quite that much glitter!
