Britain's Got Talent - Judges & Hosts

Judges & Hosts

Simon

Charismatic, enigmatic, opinion-former, workaholic, Noughties icon, ultimate entrepreneur, commercial alchemist and Great British talking point. Just a few descriptions plucked from the air that one might attribute to the force of nature that is Simon Cowell.

Everybody’s favourite Mr Nasty has been in the music industry for 28 years having launched his own record label at the age of 23. Since then he has helped sell over 150 million records and has had over 70 No. 1 hits in the UK and America.

Simon is a household name both here in Britain thanks to The X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent and in the US where he is famous for American Idol. His media and entertainment company SyCo recently became the first producer to simultaneously have the No. 1 programme in the UK and the U.S as Britain’s Got Talent and America’s Got Talent both topped the TV charts in the same week of 2007.

Simon has a lot to be happy about, he was recently ranked 3rd in the Forbes ‘TV Faces’ list and is a huge sex symbol on both sides of the Atlantic.

He has been the cover star of Rolling Stone magazine in the US and the Radio Times in the UK. His personal rollercoaster continues apace.

Piers Morgan

Piers started his career in journalism writing for local newspapers in south London. Before long he was spotted by Kelvin MacKenzie, the then editor of The Sun, and given his own showbiz column, Bizarre. This lead to Rupert Murdoch handing him the reigns to The News of the World, which he edited for two years before he was headhunted by The Mirror. His tenure as chief of The Mirror ended acrimoniously when he was sacked in May 2004 for publishing photos of British troops allegedly abusing Iraqi prisoners; the images turned out to be fake.

Since then he has focused on his TV career, presiding over the Britain’s Got Talent panel with Simon and Amanda, and presenting Tabloid Tales, and You Can’t Fire Me, I’m Famous. He has also made a name for himself in The States, playing the nasty, English judge that everyone loves to hate on America’s Got Talent.

2009 sees Piers with new series for ITV1 called Piers On… as well as a new chat show, Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, celebrating the lives and careers of leading stars from entertainment, business and politics.

Amanda Holden

Since graduating from Mountview Theatre School in the summer of 1992, Amanda has been a much-loved face on British television screens. The first part she landed was in Suspicious Circumstances, starring opposite Edward Woodward, which was soon followed by appearances in Eastenders, It’s Only A Game, and We Know Where You Live.

Her role as Mel in Kiss Me Kate propelled her towards stardom, but it was her part in the popular ITV comedy, The Grimleys, that cemented her reputation as one of the nation’s favourite actresses.

She played the leading role of Sarah Trevanion in three hugely successful series of ITV1’s Wild At Heart with Stephen Tomkinson, and is also one of the judges alongside Simon Cowell and Piers Morgan, on the hugely successful Britain’s Got Talent.  She is currently filming Big Top, a new sit-com for the BBC.

Ant and Dec

Britain’s Got Talent hosts, Ant and Dec, met when they were 13-years old on the set of children’s TV show Byker Grove, and have been virtually inseparable ever since.

The geordies seem to have the Midas touch and success has followed them throughout their careers; they starred on the big screen when they headlined the 2005 movie Alien Autopsy, as popstars they released three multi-platinum albums and had 14 Top 20 Hits in the charts, but it is their skills as television presenters for which they are best well known and loved.

With a string of hit TV shows behind them, from CD:UK and Pop Idol, to I’m A Celeb…and Gameshow Marathon, they are the undoubted kings of British entertainment.

The duo will release their first autobiography in September this year.

Stephen Mulhern

Stephen Mulhern is long established as one of the most popular entertainers in children’s television. He has now made the transition into making his name in family entertainment, and returns for his third series as presenter of Britain's Got More Talent.

Stephen has presented a host of top children’s programmes, including Holly and Stephen’s Saturday Showdown, Tricky, Globo Loco, and the BAFTA winning Quick Trick Show, where he showed off his array of magic skills.

It was these skills and his interest in magic that lead him to writing a Channel 4 show called Freaky, which “moves magic on even more than David Blaine took it”.

Stephen also presented Dancing on Ice – Defrosted, and is returning to host another series of Animals Do The Funniest Things, as well as front the new show Britain Does The Funniest Things.
