We can’t thank you enough, loyal Britain’s Got Talent fans. It’s because of you that the world’s most amazing talent search kicked off with a bang and became the most watched show of Saturday night.
Our fabulous first episode drew millions of you in – 12.2 million, to be exact! That means that apart from those soaps we love so much, the launch show of Britain's Got Talent 2012 is the highest rating programme on any channel so far this year. You, the loyal BGT fans, took over a whopping 49% share of viewing figures. Wowzers!
And what a corker of a show it was! A Roman gladiator, the introduction of “dancetry” (a mix of dancing and poetry, in case you missed it) and wicked warbles kept us – and you lot – glued to the screen.
Our four dedicated Judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, David Walliams and Amanda Holden had their work cut out picking the cream of the crop from hordes of unique performers who filled Britain’s biggest arenas.
Last night's highlights included Sam Kelly’s beautiful rendition of Make You Feel My Love, Dennis Egel’s kooky singing act and Charlotte & Jonathan’s emotional pop-opera mash-up.
So if you haven’t already, make sure you get involved in the Britain’s Got Talent fun.
