 BGT semi-finalists Dance Angels returned to the stage in their trademark colourful costumes and plenty of sparkle!

The girls dazzled the audience with an infectious performance to party hit Samba De Janeiro, but their enthusiasm didn't quite match the judges' reactions.

While The Hoff praised the group's attitude and Amanda Holden said the girls "did Wales proud", Michael McIntyre and Simon Cowell were less convinced.

Michael explained that while he loved Dance Angels - of course - their semi-final routine was too similar to their audition dance. And Simon said that their performance was only saved by the second half. But was it enough?

Jessica Hobson's sweet dream of reaching the Britain's Got Talent final turned into a beautiful nightmare as her rendition of Beyoncé Knowles' hit Single Ladies failed to impress Simon.

The 19-year-old singer from Sheffield struggled with her nerves and didn't seem as comfortable strutting her stuff on stage as she is playing the piano.

True to form, Simon Cowell didn't mince his words and called her performance "dated" and described it as getting "increasingly worse".

While the other judges were supportive, the whole panel agreed that it was obvious how nervous Jessica was and encouraged her to go back to the style that blew everyone away during her audition.

Mexican Mayhem lived up to their name as Melanie Ceazar's chihuahuas Tucker and Twizzle refused to obey her commands!

Amanda fled the panel in desperation and couldn't find a better way to describe the chaos on stage than "absolutely rubbish". Even dog lover Simon wasn't impressed and claimed Mexican Mayhem is "the worst dog act I have ever seen".

Oxford students Out Of The Blue can't do any wrong with their quirky take on pop music! 

The dapper gentlemen put together another brilliant rendition of classic hits remastered the Out Of The Blue way and brought down the house with their medley of Jump! and What A Feeling.

Simon praised their "glee-ish" performance for being "original" and "different", while David Hasselhoff insisted that "the Queen would love you". 

So do we! But sadly it was the end of the road for Britain's very own Glee Club tonight...

Were you surprised that Out Of The Blue didn't go through to the final?

While he initially impressed the BGT judges with his toast-tastic act, Nathan Wyburn tried to juggle too many plates in Thursday night's semi-final live show.

The art student tried to create three of his unique portraits at once, depicting Elvis 'The King' Presley, Michael Jackson and Marilyn Monroe - but Michael had to confess he didn't even recognise the famous faces!

He said: "I think what’s happened here is you tried to do too much.  I would have bet a huge some of money you were going to come out and do Simon’s face. You can’t recognise the people. I much preferred your earlier work."

Sadly, Nathan's didn't make the cut to become the toast of this year's Britain's Got Talent.

Jai McDowall stunned the Britain's Got Talent judges and audience alike with his soulful rendition of Evanescence's Bring Me To Life.

We thought it was impossible to top his audition, but the Scottish singer managed to outdo himself as he belted out the haunting tune.

Amanda loved Jai's rendition of the song so much, she had to create a new word to do it justice. She said:  "You gave me goosebumps.  You’re very good at anthems, ‘anthemic’, if that’s a word?!"

Michael got caught up in the spirit and likened care worker Jai to the legendary Braveheart hero William Wallace: "The power, the passion, it’s like having William Wallace here. The only thing missing is you should end all your songs with “FREEDOM”. I love the fact that you came here and want this so badly. You have done everything you can to take this opportunity."

Name a random dance move, any random dance move, and Steve Hall is your man! His dance medley for the Britain's Got Talent semi-final topped anything we have ever seen before!

He may not have the technical finesse of previous winners Diversity, but any man (over the age of 30) who can shake his booty to Shakira, walk like an Egyptian and even throw a few Bollywood shapes gets our vote!

The judges agreed, as they put Steven through to the next round.

Simon said: "Maybe there’s something in the air tonight, I did actually enjoy what you did. It is crazy and slightly sort of compelling and you seem very likeable."

And Amanda truly couldn't get enough of the man's talents: "I loved all the different themes. I wish you could sing, I’d love to see all your videos. If this doesn’t say YouTube I don’t know what does."

Which part of Steven's performance was your favourite? Does he deserve a place in the final?

Edward Reid did his best to top his audition performance and sang about Postman Pat, Popeye, the Wombles and the Tellytubbies, all set to the melody of Whitney Houston's The Greatest Love Of All! What's not to love?

Amanda couldn't contain herself with excitement and sang his praises: "I loved you, my favourite thing of all time.  We always say this show could change your life, this show could give you money to by some socks. I loved it."

Indeed, it was a close call between Edward and Steven Hall... But despite his obvious talent for songwriting, Simon cast the deciding vote and sent the divalicious Scot packing. What a loss!

Oh, what a night! After a glittering selection of performances including cheeky chihuahuas, colourful dance routines and quite a few tears, we present to you the winners of Thursday's semi-final live show!

Jai McDowall and Steven Hall will join the other finalists to compete for their place at the Royal Variety Show - maybe that's why they look so serious?

Surprise, surprise! Simon Cowell announced that he is throwing a lifeline to one lucky act who didn't make it through to the live shows initially.

The big boss wasn't happy about Amanda, Michael and David's decision to send French dancer Michael Moral home, and has invited the slick mover back - because he can...

 Michael will rejoin the other contestants - including his nemesis Razy Gogonea -  on tomorrow's live show to battle it out for a place in Saturday's final!
