Michael McIntyre relinquishes his seat Added 21 Sep

Michael McIntyre has announced he won't be returning to the judging panel for the 2012 series of Britain's Got Talent.

Instead the comedian will be concentrating on his own stand up tour.

An ITV spokesman added:

"Michael was a fantastic new addition to Britain's Got Talent judging panel. We wish him all the very best with his tour and look forward to working with him again."

Simon Cowell also praised the comedian's work :

"It's been amazing working with Michael - I don't need to wish him any luck with the tour because it's already gigantic!"
