Following a long awaited return to our shores, TV supremo Simon Cowell is back at the helm of the telly extravaganza that is Britain’s Got Talent and things are looking positively cosmic!
Not one to do things by halves, the big boss has already been telling the press that we may offer the winner of this year’s show the chance to perform in space courtesy of Sir Richard Branson's new venture Virgin Galactic!
As Simon told us on the red carpet: “It’s a brilliant year for Britain. We’ve got the Olympics as well as the Diamond Jubilee and Britain’s Got Talent really lends itself to the patriotic spirit of the public right now.” Agreed, Simon, agreed.
And hot on the heels of talented canine Uggie from The Artist, Simon says he’s keen for a dancing dog to scoop the prize. Could Mr Cowell turn a mutt into a millionaire? Watch this space!
Also taking their seats on this year’s new judging line-up is actor and comedian David Walliams; singer, songwriter and dancer Alesha Dixon; and of course, returning Judge – Amanda Holden.
Kicking things off in Manchester last week at the auditions, even the torrential rain didn’t dampen the spirits of our fabulous four as hordes of fans turned up in their droves to pledge allegiance to the entertainment juggernaut that is BGT.
Indeed, it was banners a-go-go and flags galore at the Manchester and Blackpool auditions. Whilst sheltering under a union jack umbrella in Manchester, hosts Ant & Dec excitedly told us: “Simon is brilliant. To have him back is the best feeling in the world. Things are going to be better and bigger than ever before.” Yikes! With this in mind, we can’t wait for the Cardiff, Edinburgh, London and Birmingham auditions.
As per, spin-off show Britain’s Got More Talent, will be presented by the multi-talented magician and eye-candy that is Stephen Mulhern. And over at twitter, our undercover reporter the #BGTinsider @GotTalent will be keeping you in the loop 24/7 with juicy exclusives and behind-the-scenes snaps. So, what are you waiting for? Get involved!
Welcome back BGT, we’ve missed you.
