With her family huddled around Ant and Dec in the wings, 14-year-old Olivia cut a nervous figure as she stood on stage and announced she was singing Sarah McLachlan’s Angel .

“This a hard song to sing,” Simon whispered, before she opened her mouth and blew the room away with a stunningly mature rendition.

“That was absolutely spellbinding,” beamed Amanda. “You’ve got such a lovely quality to your voice.” Simon was also amazed: “You sang that so well,” he said. “You made it your version of the song. I am so, so impressed with you Olivia, I can’t tell you!”

The three inevitable yeses followed, and an emotional Olivia ran into the arms of her proud family.

i love bgt. its my saturday night, and i love simon cowell. olivia was brilliant, im sure she will go far, and the 5 boys i thought they were brilliant to,i really enjoyed 2nights show. can i also say a big hello to simon, as u really make my saturday nights,i like ur honesty. blunt but honest, and thats what i like. britain sure has talent. xxx

Love Britain's Got Talent but why, oh why, does the camera keep turning away from the performers to show the panel and the audience so that we only see about two-thirds of the act itself? Not only is it annoying, sometimes it's so bad that we miss something that the panel discusses afterwards. Really pleased Connected got through even tho' it was after Simon had to hijack the limelight first. They were great!
